Aloha all,
Yesterday, Jenny and I, joined with our friends Kristin and Brett, went down to watch the Oktoberfest Parade, which marks the beginning of the Oktoberfest. There was a huge number of people there to watch as all of the Munich breweries showed off their kegs on horse-drawn carriages adorned with many beautiful flowers. We managed to find a decent spot to get some pictures -- and actually, the backdrop to the pictures was amazing in itself. After the parade, we walked around (in vain) looking for a place to sit and have a beer. An hour (and a bratwurst) later, we gave up since Jenny was starting to feel a bit peaked. We did, however, have a really nice time watching the parade.
Some pics below. Enjoy!

The Paulaner Carriage.
Augustiner Carriage.
Höfbräu Carriage (with an awesome backdrop!!).
Some slick looking fellows.
I liked the rotating pig on a spit in front of the Spatenbräu Tent.
