We had another pretty sunset tonight, which is an omen for bad observing. The night started off with focusing troubles. We eventually were able to focus the telescope after an hour or so. Then an hour later, the clouds rolled in. It became a matter of searching for the clear spots in the sky. However, this doesn't work so well when you have exposure times around 1 hour long. The clouds eventually reach you... It is interesting to think about how the light from these stars takes thousands of years to reach us, only to be blotted out by some small cloud. Now, the clouds have finally moved off and things are going smoothly. So, back to taking data.
That is interesting...you'd think the cloud would be toast!
